Αναμφισβήτητα ο Joey Negro είναι από τους μεγαλύτερους Βρετανούς παραγωγούς και remixer της house μουσικής το πραγματικό του όνομα είναι Dave Lee. Ξεκίνησε τις παραγωγές το 1988 και δημιουργώντας την δισκογραφική εταιρία Z records αρχίζει να εκφράζει τις πολύπλευρες μουσικές του ανησυχίες χρησιμοποιώντας ψευδώνυμα όπως Akabu, Raven Maze, Sunburst Band, Doug Willis, Prospect Park, Mistura, Sessomatto και άλλα, γνωρίζοντας επιτυχίες, σε όλα τα μήκη και πλάτη του πλανήτη.
Το 2000 με το όνομα Jakatta, και χρησιμοποιώντας το soundtrack της ταινίας American Beauty δημιουργεί το American Dream EP και φτάνει στην κορυφή του βρετανικού chart, ενώ τα singles του One Fine Day και το So Lonely γίνονται ταυτόσημα με τον Chill out ήχο της Ibiza.
Οι συνεργασίες του είναι αναρίθμητες και μερικές από τις σημαντικότερες είναι αυτές με την Thelma Houston,τον Seal, τους Blaze, τους Trammps, την Taka Boom κα με την Beth Hirsh των Air.
